The Board of Education held two strategic planning sessions this week. The work done in these meetings will guide the development of the district's five-year strategic plan. Thank you to all who participated this process!

The Lincoln-Way Foundation has donated $90,000 to Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 for updating the libraries at all three high schools. The updates will include collaboration stations to be used by students and teachers alike. The stations will allow for customized instruction and small group work. Today, LWC Medical Anatomy students dove into the fascinating world of the respiratory system ! They unraveled the mysteries of the respiratory system through the power of smell. Students were challenged to identify different scents of essential oils and food extracts.

The LWC Music Department will present VESPERS 2023 tomorrow, December 1st, at 7:00PM in the Charles R Stark Center for the Performing Arts (Door 7A).
Vespers 2023 is our annual holiday concert featuring all of LWC's curricular ensembles performing fun, seasonally festive melodies - and cookies!
The fun kicks off at 7:00PM with Guitar Studio and all Choirs -- followed by the annual Intermission Cookie Party. The fun continues after intermission with Percussion Ensembles, Orchestra, and Bands.
Admission is a nonperishable donation for our "Literal Ton of Food Drive" to be donated to our Frankfort and New Lenox food pantries.
Concertgoers may also bring a pair of gloves or mittens to hang on the Mitten Tree, which will also be collected for our food pantries.

Last week, Central and West book clubs met at the New Lenox Public Library. They toured the facility and learned about everything the library has to offer.




The LWC LIFE and Pathways classes did a great job preparing for and hosting a Thanksgiving feast last week!








Science Club members at Lincoln-Way West are practicing their catapults for the SWSC competition in January!


On Saturday, November 4th, cadets from the Lincoln-Way East Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) program participated in a food packing event. During their 90-minute shift, the cadets packed over 5000 meals as part of over 104,600 meals prepared that day for shipment to people in need in Haiti and Somalia.
Following the food packing event, the cadets then visited the nearby Chicago Glider Club. There they were able to observe glider takeoff and recoveries and get a tour of the newest generation of motor gliders.

The 14th annual Lincoln-Way West winter baseball camp for grades 1-8 will take place on December 27th, 28th, and 29th. Players can choose an offensive and defensive skills camp or pitching and catching camp.
