East Homecoming Spirit Week 2024 (Tuesday)



Party on the East Coast spirit week kicked off with concert attire! Tomorrow is color wars. Seniors: pink; Juniors: green; Sophomores: blue; Freshmen: yellow; Faculty: black.




This Friday the LWE Varsity football team is showing support for both the homecoming festivities and those who served our country. Salute the Troops shirts will sell for $20 throughout the week and during Friday’s game. All proceeds will be donated to the Our Fallen Hero Foundation in memory of LWE graduate Army PFC Aaron Toppen Foundation.




Reminders for Homecoming Dance:
1. All car drivers should park in the stadium lot and enter through door 31 (athletics). You should enter off of LW Lane. If being dropped off, please get dropped in front of auditorium/ main entrance area and enter through door 41. You should enter off of Colorado Ave.
2. No bags allowed
3. No entry after 8:00pm.

Student Council and Class Boards participated in the PREDEC today for the LWE 2024 Homecoming. Students turned the cafeteria and hallways into a beach-themed paradise to celebrate HOCO week. Students, be sure to join in on the fun for Party on the East Coast spirit week! Tomorrow is concert attire. #goeast

Students attended the See Something, Say Something presentation during their advisory/lunch period in the Auditorium today. LWE's Student Resource Officer Brett Bartunek reminded our students to find a trusted adult if they see something, say something.





Our student section celebrated "Gold Out" to support September Pediatric Cancer month. Throughout the week, T-Shirts were purchased by students, staff and members of our community to grant wishes, raise awareness and fund research to help kids fighting cancer. The halftime performances by the varsity cheerleaders and Pom's as well as the LWMB evolved from a simple intermission to a grand spectacle for all of us to enjoy. To top off the night, the Varsity football team walked away with a huge win against Stagg High School. #goeast

Art teacher Ms. Cavazos introduced the film camera to her photography students today. She explained how to take a picture with a film camera by loading the film properly into the camera. Then, adjust settings like focus, aperture, and shutter speed according to the photographer's desired exposure. Finally, press the shutter button to capture the image. Her photography students will be able to test their camera skills tomorrow.





LWE Homecoming, Party on the East Coast, will be on 9/28. Please scan
the QR code on the ticket posters, TVs, or on Social Media .Tickets are $20. For outside guest, you will need to pick up a form to be approved by your guest's school and returned to SSO no later than 9/25.






The Career Exploration class hosted Mrs. Corinne Batterman, Asst. Professor from JJC. She introduced many career opportunities in Agriculture like Agribusiness, Biotechnology, and Sustainability. There's more to Ag than farming! It is only 1.2% of the jobs in this industry.


The LWE Fall Anatomy and Medical Class just completed their first week of orientation at Franciscan Hospital in Olympia Fields. #goeast #scienceducation
