World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on 3/21. The idea is that chromosomes look like socks when viewed on a karyotype, and people with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome. We hope you participate and show support. We hope to see lots of socks on 3/21 at LWE!!!

The community is invited to the annual ArtWorks Festival being held at L-WAY EAST on Saturday, March 16th from 10am-3pm. The festival will include artwork from 32 area schools K-12, hands-on art activities for kids, music performances, face painting, and concessions. The event is free to the public. LWE Mathletes captured their 4th straight regional championship beating Sandburg by 148 points. The Geometry team, precalculus team and freshman/sophomore 8-person team all took first place. Second place finishes for algebra 1, algebra 2, calculator team, junior/senior 2-person, and oral presentation. Individual first places by Jaxson Plutz, 36/40 in algebra 1, Kaitlyn Poidomani, 34/40 in geometry, and Max Bacon, 26/40 in precalculus. Also medaling, Ben Hayward, Alex Gartelmann, Griffin Chojnacki, Bryson Das, Ashlyn Huizanga, Gabe Alva, and Madelyn Dryier. Congratulations, Griffins!
