
We won against Lockport in the final match of the season, taking 3rd place in conference.
Half of the LWE Chess team were top 10 scorers (an incredible achievement)by Logan Fox, Khoi Vo, Evan Strejcik, and Nate Bafia.
A special shout-out to Nate Bafia who was the top scorer in the entire conference! Good luck for Sectionals this weekend at Joliet Central.




History comes alive in our medieval-themed presentations! Mr. Bonebrake and Mr. Russler's world history classes took a deep dive into the Middle Ages, and the creativity was off the charts! From castles to knights, students brought history to life with their detailed presentations.






Today, LWE students listened to guest speakers from Homeland Security Investigations Project iGuardian. These presenters shared information abut the dangers of online environments, how to stay safe online and how to report abuse and suspicious activity.

We wanted to share that our East Varsity Dance Team qualified for the IHSA Dance State Finals earning 4th place at Sectionals this past weekend. Good luck Griffins!

Lincoln-Way East National Honor Society Members assembled gift packages from donated items for women and children at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia.





Lincoln-Way East High School had the honor of hosting the annual SWSC Journalism Conference for local high school students and newspaper club sponsors!
Our students got the chance to learn from some of Chicago’s top media experts, including: Demetrius Ivory (WGN-TV) - Lexi Sutter (WMAQ-TV) - Courtney Scott (WBBM-TV) - Eric Siegel (WLS-TV).
From working behind the assignment desk to hitting the streets for live reporting, students gained invaluable insights into the world of broadcast journalism. They also learned what it takes to produce stories, make critical decisions in the field, and provide up-to-date weather forecasts!
It was an amazing day filled with learning, networking, and inspiration! Huge thanks to all the speakers and attendees for making it a memorable event. The SWSC Journalism Conference wrapped up with Journalism awards and LWE's Newspaper club member Jaida Abdelrahman won second place in the photo contest. PPS demonstrated to our students how to access Schoolinks as part of their course selection planning process. This week students are meeting with their counselors to discuss their selections and teacher recommendations.






Ms. McAvoy's Physics class worked their egg drop experiment. The goal is for students to build a structure that will prevent a raw egg from breaking when dropped from a significant height.

Freshman Seminar and Reading students recently took a career assessment and researched a career of choice, which included identifying classes they could take at LWE that connect to their career. Students then concluded the unit by presenting their findings to their classmates. Great job, Griffins!






The junior English classes have officially kicked off their research paper assignments!Mr. Toland took the time to meet with each student individually to guide them through the key steps for success. Looking forward to seeing all the amazing work they'll produce!






Mrs. Kosinski's AP Human Geography classes were given a term and a region of the world. They were assigned to work on a collaborative PowerPoint to teach their fellow classmates about important terms in relation to real world situations.



The American Red Cross club is raising funds to help the victims of the California fires. Please support this cause by purchasing a healthy treat from Nautical Bowl which recently opened in Frankfort.

The holiday family adoption program was once again very successful. Groups, clubs, and classes from Lincoln-Way East High School adopt families in need from the district, and they buy items from wish lists provided by the needy families. Christmas will be very merry for these families!
