Our Griffins are hard at work at Spanish tutoring yesterday getting ready for final exams! ¡Buena suerte, estudiantes!
This December, AP and Honors French and German classes collaborated on the film Joyeux Noël, a true story depicting the Christmas Truce during WWI December 24, 1914. Classes presented to the “enemy” various aspects of life at the time in their own target culture to help the “other side” gain understanding and perspective. Students got into the trenches and participated in communicative activities in their target languages much as the soldiers at the time would have done. Finally, after watching the film, which was in three different languages, the classes combined and discussed themes and motifs of the film before completing a project. Frohe Weihnachten!
What an incredible day of creativity, engineering, and teamwork! Our Bridge Building Contest brought out the best in everyone, as science students designed and constructed innovative bridges using just the materials provided. The results were nothing short of amazing!

International Club visited a Kris Kindle Market as a social outing where members of the club explored the market together, enjoying the holiday atmosphere.

The LWE Chess Team competed at Bolingbrook High School with over 30 teams in attendance. They went 2-2 for the day.
LWE Interact Club joined the community over the weekend in downtown Frankfort by volunteering to pass out hot chocolate to all who attend.
AP Language students evaluated sample essays for their AP exam.
Computer Club did a meme contest with Mr.Griggs. Our final winner was Joey Hajek.
Today students listened to guest speakers from the Will County State's Attorney Office. Dr. Scott DuBois and Kelly Tebo provided information on substance abuse prevention.

Saturday our Varisty Girls and Boys Basketball Teams travel to the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown, IN to take on LWC! Game times are 10am (9am cst) for the Girls and 12 pm (11am cst) for the Boys. Tickets are $10 cash at the door. Watch the movie Hoosiers and come on down to the games!
