Tomorrow is the MANDATORY captain meeting for our 2024 Homecoming Olympics! One member, and only one member, from your team must attend the meeting in the Warriors Lodge at 7:40 am or 2:40 pm in order to participate in this year’s Olympics. In order to develop their skills of analysis and attention to detail, students in Mrs. McCall’s English 1 class are using textual evidence to make inferences and draw maps of the island in “The Most Dangerous Game.”

September is Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month, and tomorrow is World Suicide Prevention Day. In an effort to raise awareness, Bring Change 2 Mind has tied purple and teal ribbons around trees in front of the building, posted information for support resources in the hallways and they are also encouraging staff and students to wear purple or teal to school tomorrow - Tuesday, September 10. We can make a difference by being there for each other, listening, being kind, and reaching out if you or someone you know needs help. #YouMatter

Are you wanting to Get Involved at Lincoln-Way West?! The annual Activity Fair is today during all of the lunch hours and we encourage all of our students to find a connection here at school. We have a number of returning clubs and activities as well as some new activities and activity sponsors to the 2024 – 2025 school year. Students will have the opportunity to pick up flyers for our clubs and activities today at the Activity Fair. Coordinator of Student Activities, Mrs. Novak, will also be available to answer any specific questions you may have about how to get involved at Lincoln-Way West. Freshmen and sophomores attended a Welcome to West presentation yesterday where they heard about PPS resources from school social worker Mrs. Hack and the many ways to get involved at Lincoln-Way West from Coordinator of Student Activities, Mrs. Novak. Students have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of our clubs and activities at tomorrow’s activity fair during the lunch hours. #GetInvolved

EAC students conducted an experiment at today’s meeting in order to find out the answer to this question. Registration for the 2024 Olympics is underway! As a reminder, packets will not be accepted after 3:00 pm tomorrow. Teams can register for the event tomorrow in the cafeteria before school from 7:45 – 8:00 am or after school from 2:37 – 3:00 pm. Juniors attended presentations today about visits from college representatives and testing information from Dr. Luzzo and our PPS staff while seniors attended a college application Q & A session with college counselor, Mr. Kohlbacher. Juniors and seniors should reach out to their counselors with any follow-up questions from today’s presentations. #LeadTheWay
LWW Theatre Company is “gearing up” for our Fall Play Rosie the Riveter. Get involved and become a part of the team as we portray this World War Two story based on actual events. Auditions are this Thursday at 2:45 in the Auditorium.
