LWW Anatomy and Physiology hosted guest speaker Dr. Tischelle Gatlin from Ascension St Joseph’s Medical Center. Dr Gatlin is a Board Certified OB/GYN. She shared with students her journey from undergraduate through medical school to a practicing physician. She also allowed students the opportunity to try a training device physicians use for practicing laparoscopic procedures. Thank you, Dr Gatlin!

Attention juniors and seniors who purchased prom tickets: Just a reminder that prom is this Saturday, May 6, at Tuscany Falls in Mokena from 6:30-10:00 p.m. Bring your ticket and a school ID to enter the dance. If you have a pre-approved outside guest, make sure to bring your tickets stapled to your outside guest form. Ticket sales are closed and there are no tickets sold at the door for this event.

Congratulations to the new members of the Lincoln-Way West Math Honor Society! Students received their certificates during a luncheon last week with games and music while socializing with their classmates.





We've got talent! The Best Buddies program has worked hard to show off all their amazing skills at this year's Talent Show!





Tyler Mansker is the final Lincoln-Way West Super Fan of the school year! Tyler is a senior who is involved in the Lincoln-Way Math Honor Society, NHS, Warrior Way and Welcome Crew. Tyler is also a two sport athlete who played football and wrestled. He was honorable mention All-Area for football and was an All-Conference selection for wrestling. Tyler shared that he enjoys the people at Lincoln-Way West and has had many memorable experiences during his career as a Lincoln-Way West Warrior.

Congratulations to all of those who competed this weekend in the SkillsUSA State competition including Caleb Morandi in Welding, Matt Mikos in Technical Math, and Wyatt Schultz in Cabinet Making. A special congratulations goes to our Welding Fabrication teams; The team of Jenna Cronk, Zach Daletski, and Nick Kurczak finished 6th. The team of Kenny Jones, Ryan Dennison, and Matt Reid placed 3rd in the State at SkillsUSA this past weekend.

Join us as we encourage our students to participate in Mental Health Awareness Month! This month, the Bring Change 2 Mind club will be promoting various tips from the Mental Health America calendar. There will be daily announcements in the month of May highlighting these tips and students will also see these tips throughout the building. There will be more information to come on BC2M’s Zen Den that they have planned for Mental Health Awareness Month, too! #YouMatter


Congratulations to Señora Ruiz's AP Spanish 5 Literature students for being selected as one of the winning groups in the Chicagoland area Choral Reading Poetry Contest. Multiple judges awarded them a perfect score for their interpretation of Cuban author Nicolás Guillén's poem, Balada de los dos abuelos. Great work to Mikayla Adrieansen, Sam Fromer, Maddy Hurley, Halle Kramerich, Milan Miskovic, Ellie Slowiak, Kalliope Theodorou, Caitlin Vanoss, and Anna Zheng!




Interested in National Honor Society? Come to an informational meeting to learn more about the qualifications to apply, application process, & timeline. This meeting is open to current sophomores and juniors who are NOT currently in NHS.
