Yesterday, the Knights were visited by a former student, 1st Lt Matt Fleckenstein. He graduated in 2016 from Lincoln-Way Central and then from the US Air Force Academy in 2020. He is currently a C-130 pilot, and happened to be flying through the area!

LWC Forensic Science students set up a pumpkin decomposition lab yesterday. The students made a hypothesis as to which pumpkin with decompose the fastest and will monitor the stages of decomposition throughout the rest of the semester.

Central hosted its annual Road to Reality event last night. Thank you to all of our staff, students and community partners who helped make the event a success, sending a strong message to students about the consequences of driving under the influence.
The LWE Music Department is continuing the homecoming celebration into this weekend with their first ever "Homecoming Cabaret." A cabaret is a collection of songs that typically fall within a given theme. Students will be singing a variety of pop and musical theater songs centered around the theme of "home," or "coming home." Congratulations to the Lincoln-Way Marching Band for their performance this past weekend at the Stagg Marching Jamboree. Lincoln-Way Competed in class 3A and was awarded 1st place in the Music, Visual, and Percussion captions areas as well as first place in class 3A and was also awarded the overall Grand Champion Award across all classes. The LWMB will compete again at the Prospect High School Knight of Champions on September 30th

September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Yesterday during advisory periods, students heard a presentation from Rogers Behavior Health with information on suicide awareness and prevention, as well as tips on distress tolerance techniques to use in a time of crisis.
