On Saturday, November 4th, cadets from the Lincoln-Way East Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) program participated in a food packing event. During their 90-minute shift, the cadets packed over 5000 meals as part of over 104,600 meals prepared that day for shipment to people in need in Haiti and Somalia.
Following the food packing event, the cadets then visited the nearby Chicago Glider Club. There they were able to observe glider takeoff and recoveries and get a tour of the newest generation of motor gliders.
