Have a great spring break
LWC students in the Wind Ensemble had the amazing privilege of meeting and interviewing nationally recognized composer Dr. Kimberly Archer, who is the Professor of Composition at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. We performed one of her latest works, "Fanfare Politeia" on our last concert, and we are going to perform it again at a festival in April. Dr. Archer discussed her career, compositional techniques, sources of inspiration, and what it was like having her composition receive its premiere performance at President Biden's Presidential Inauguration. What a great experience for the students!

The group loaded up over 20 garbage bags filled with donated clothing items to benefit the non-profit whose mission statement aims to aid high school students from all over the Chicagoland area. They received a guided tour of the amazing facility that offers skill-based workshops, a thrift shop, and garden center for teen students in need. What a great way to spend some time with our community!
