German classes at East heard from native speakers to learn about life in Germany and Austria this afternoon. Students in all levels of German were able to ask questions, hear about their experiences, and test their knowledge of American culture.

Today at Lincoln-Way West, students in our co-op program were able to explore new job opportunities at the second annual co-op employer expo. Local businesses provided an overview of their open positions, and students had time to ask questions, network, and even complete applications. The Lincoln-Way Marching Band hosted Tournament of Roses President Ed Morales last week. In addition to touring the schools and attending fundraising events, he presented the official Tournament of Roses flag to the LWMB at their annual community night on Saturday. All three schools hosted their community night events last Friday. Youth cheer and dance camp participants performed, fall sports were recognized, and the football teams held their last scrimmage before the season starts. A great time was had by all!
Students are diving right in to the curriculum this year! Advanced art and meteorology classes took their learning outside, while medical anatomy and physiology students participated in their first dissection of the year.

Today's Institute Day kicked off the school year in our favorite way - with the Lincoln-Way Marching Band and AFJROTC! Thank you to all of these students for helping us get started on a positive note. We are so excited to welcome you all back tomorrow!
The Lincoln-Way Marching Band has begun their journey to the Rose Parade and are excited to welcome Tournament of Roses President Ed Morales and his wife Lisa next week! Morales will tour all three high schools, attend fundraising events, and participate in the band’s annual Community Night, and we invite the community to join in some of the festivities!
On Thursday, August 22nd, The LWMB will be hosting Rose President Morales at Gatto’s in New Lenox. Tickets can be purchased for $50, and all proceeds will support the LWMB’s march to the roses. On Saturday, August 24th, please join us for the annual LWMB Community Night, which will begin at 7pm at Lincoln-Way East in the stadium. The band will preview their field show, hear from Rose President Morales, and have a chance to win some great raffle prizes. The gates will open at 6pm for concessions and seating. This event is FREE to the public.

Lincoln-Way Central hosted freshman orientation this morning! Link Crew student leaders led tours around the school, answered questions, and welcomed the Class of 2028 into the Knight family.
We are excited to welcome our bus drivers back to school for a kickoff meeting this morning at LWW.
Thank you to our local law enforcement agencies for conducting an emergency response training for our staff yesterday. This training is part of an ongoing collaboration to help maintain the safety and well-being of our school community.
