The PPS department presented information regarding scholarship searches/opportunities, 4-year planning, course information and FASFA during lunch/advisory hours.
Mrs. Hyland and Ms. Graham’s Criminology classes hosted Mr. Olson's father who served 49 years in law enforcement --Ten of those years as a Senior Crime Scene Analyst for the Illinois State Police. He shared some cases he had worked on and spoke with the students about evidence collection. He also stressed the importance of getting an education and being trained to do something rewarding.

Mrs. Strain and Mrs. Sola’s English 2 classes took to the stage to act out Macbeth! Groups analyzed and added stage directions to a scene before performing it in front of their classmates.

Beautiful singing helped bring kindness and joy in the air today as students and staff gathered in the library to watch the East Acapella choir perform at the LWE Coffee House.
Liyat Zekarias was named the November Kiwanis student of the month. Liyat is extremely involved at LWE, has over 200 community service hours, and is an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Environmental Action Club (EAC) volunteered with Cook County Forest Preserve District at Orland Grasslands to harvest seeds in their native prairie to continue their restoration efforts. It was a beautiful day with 20 students showing up to volunteer.

Tutoring was bustling today with a ton of students from Spanish 1 and 2 looking to practice their Spanish skills! The tutors are all members of the Spanish Honors Society, and we offer our tutoring services every Wednesday before and after school in room 214. Tutoring is open to any student of any level who is looking for help with anything from vocab, to our 4 skills of listening, reading, writing, and speaking. #goeastgogriffinsgoblue
